Psychiatrist
Vidushi Babber, MD, has been named to the Board of Directors for SamaritanCounselingCenter.Dr. Babber is a member of the physician
staff of The Institute for Neuropsychiatry in Lake Charles.She received her psychiatric training at University of Texas Medical Branch,
and was a Fellow at the University of Illinois in Chicago. Dr. Babber specializes in general adult psychiatry and women's mental
health, and is the Medical Director of the Adult Services Unit at Lake CharlesMemorialHospital.
She is an active volunteer in educating
the community, advocating the improvement of women's mental health through prevention and education. Dr. Babber is a co-author
of the book A Healthier You, and recently began hosting a new national radio program, “Winning with Wellness”
on VoiceAmerica internet talk radio.
Samaritan Counseling Center offers counseling services on a sliding scale fee and is supported financially by the
an interfaith group of partner churches in the lake area. The Center is also a United
Way agency. Samaritan’s mission is to provide help and hope to mind, body and spirit through interfaith
pastoral counseling.Samaritan is governed by 12 community leaders who voluntarily serve as the Board of
Directors.
